"My 1st Quarter as a Fourth Year Student"

There are many things that we learn in school, not only on the four corners of the classroom but as well as outside the room. During the 1st quarter of the school year I’ve already learned a lot especially in our T.L.E. IV; in this subject I’ve learned many things about internet, its uses, history, blogging and more.

But of course part of high school life is to encounter problems or challenges not only in studies but as well as in other aspect such as in classroom and clubs. The problems that I’ve encountered this past few months is that when I didn’t attend my classes for several days because I’m sick, I have to catch up with lessons and rush my missed assignments. How I hate the feeling of rushing to meet the deadline. Other problems are in the classroom especially in the distribution of works, in my club on the other hand, have lot of challenges which I can’t give because they are many to mention and are very confidential.

With God’s help, support of my loved ones, and understanding of my teachers I was able to overcome this challenges calmly. I know that addressing to these problems is very tiring but I’m bearing in mind that this is also part of my training as a fourth year student.

I know that as I move one to the next quarter of the school year there’ll be more knowledge to gain and more problems to encounter. That’s why next quarter I’ll do better, burn more midnight oils and prepare for the future because I believe in the saying “FAIL TO PREPARE, PREPARES YOU TO FAIL.”

LET'S START TODAY!!!

Everyone is saying that communication is very important to us and it’s true. Communication is done through different languages such as English or Filipino. This two languages is like a computer, in a computer if one part of it is malfunctioning well the whole part of it is affected. In this case if Filipino is not properly used we will not be able to speak in English fluently.

During the old times Philippines is one of the best English speaker in Asia. But as time goes by our ability in speaking English is deteriorating due to many factors. That is why during the month of August we celebrate in the “Linggo ng Wika” not only to commemorate but to develop our speaking skills. In our school, English Club is currently conducting a “Speak to me in English or Filipino Campaign” to enhance the speaking ability of the students of Ilocos Sur National High School.

Today, at this very moment is the best time for us to start speaking in English or Filipino properly. We must do it well and hard in order for us to have a brighter future.
